ya catch one fish on them and there done usually, does anyone have any advice to prevent that? I know people use glue

just a dab of glue....the best way...they'll last for hours....

What redskeeter190 said. Plus I put a wacky o-ring on the head about a 1/4" down before inserting the hook/jig head. It reduces the tear-out in that area.

just a dab of glue....the best way...they'll last for hours.... That's all you can do. I don't know about hours but you can catch a couple doing it that way.

Glue or mend it to repair,
Ooor jig heads with wire keepers bent to grab the hook shank... (cough jig makers you should do this more)
