Fished in a small 5 boat tourney yesterday with Medina Lake Bassmasters from 7am-1pm and had a great time. The fishing was really off with bluebird skies and that cold front blowing threw the day before. Water temps 67 degrees and clear. We tried as best we could to put a pattern together, but every fish we boated seemed to be random from 2'-15' on any type of structure, we just couldn't figure it out. Texas rig senko was the best producing technique for the day, with watermellon red flake being our best color. Normal days out there are easy 60+ bass, but I doubt we caught 15 yesterday, it was tough. We were able to put 2 keepers in the boat with one of them being just over 3lb for a 2 fish total of 4.6lbs, which was fortunately enough for us to win it. Everyone reported about the same experience on the water that we had that I talked to. These guys hosted a great tourney and I hope to get to fish with them again!

^^

I've had days like that out there. One week I could throw just the hook and catch fish and the next week I might have caught 2 or 3 after trying everything in the box. Seems like you caught a few nice ones though. The past few times I've been out there I've caught 15-30 fish but the biggest was just shy of 2 pounds.

I try to look at the bright side though. I'm not at work and a fish is a fish.

I fished Medina yesterday (Monday).

We caught 34 fish.. Two keepers.. squeakers.. water has cooled a bit.. not what it was three weeks ago. But still a lot of fun.. trick worms and baby brush hogs.. chartreuse dip on tail made a lot of difference. Most fish in Six feet around brush. . Elm creek best..

Thanks for the info. I might have to give Elm Creek another try next time I'm out there. I've fished it a few time but usually have better results in Antone Hollow and Water Canyon.

I went out today and they were nailing the plastic worms. Seems like I couldn't hardly get a bite on the main lake, most of the fish I caught were all in the creeks/coves.

I hit the lake from 1400 - dark on the 23rd. Fished up in Elm Creek because of the post and caught a few fish around the brush areas. I also caught a few around a some of the docks. Ended up going out into the main lake and caught quite a few around the brush in 6-10' of water. I pulled this guy out of around 10'. The scale said it was 2.53 lbs. It hammered a 5 3/8" Stick O, Morning Dawn color on a Texas Rig. I caught quite a few using it that afternoon.

I'm taking my 10 year old out there tomorrow for some fun. We are making the trip from Corpus Christi since Falcon has so much going on right now. Any new reports? I've only been out there once before and we caught them all on soft plastics.

Where is Elm Creek? Thanks guys!
