Had fun again at Denison Dam using the Switch Rod for Striped Bass this past Saturday. Mainly little Striped Bass but did get one Keeper! Video.

Made it back to Denison today. One Keeper Striper! Still working on the video. Sidetracked for now... gotta watch the Cowboys versus edit video. Pictures.

Was a tough go at Denison yesterday but luckily was able to catch a little Striped Bass on a fishing fly and two Catfish with live bait. Did miss lots of others as well. Lotta fun still! Saturday's Video.

If anybody goes out to Denison Dam today. Can you please update us if the generation is on or not. The website is not reliable at all.... I went at 3AM and the generation has been shut off since last night. Thank you!!

^^^ Yes pleaseeeeee report if the generator is releasing water. I was out there yesterday also and was suprised with a rudening realization that it was going to be a skunkfest... and I live an hour and a half a away

it's on from 11am till 11pm

saw some 8 to 10 lb caught using flukes under a bober. Bites was slow. I fished afternoon for 5 hours no luck for me. caught 6 catfish may be 3 to 4 lb each. More people fished on texas side.

Initially posted this on the Community Lakes thread, but figured this would be a better location. Went out and fished the Red River below Denison Dam Saturday morning. The air temp was 39 degrees but the water was in the mid 60s and my duck hunting clothing kept me nice and warm. Only caught three fish in two hours, but they were a nice mixed bag. Started off quickly with a nice chunky largemouth that hit my olive/white half and half streamer and put quite the bend in my 8 weight. After another hour of no hits I switched colors and went with a chartreuse/white deceiver. Caught a small striped bass and then caught what appeared to be the offspring of a tarpon and piranha. Turns out it was a goldeye herring, which is not a native fish but Google shows have been caught in Lake Texoma for over a decade. The fish was probably 15 or so inches long and had some crazy teeth. There were some other people fishing in boats near me, but I was the only person wading. The only boats I saw catching anything were two boats (the ones you can see in the video and in the picture of the largemouth) which were chumming constantly with live shad and were catching small, mostly non-keeper stripers on live bait. Overall, a great day with another interesting fish caught (last time it was a black buffalo, this time a goldeye herring).

Cool fish. I'd love to catch one of those.

This is my first season in TX, so for those who've been here longer, what does the winter season on the Red look like? Will the bigger stripers come back up, or does that just depend on rain and flows?
