My Ugly Stik BWS1101 bailed out on my destruction test early, i had a few more things planned for it before it died, that being the case i might make a part 2 with a different rod.
The same rod used in this video has landed dozens and dozens of trophy fish over the 5 years that i owned it and several alligator gar over the 7 foot monster mark before the reel seat broke on it a few months ago and it ended up in this test.

Nice Demo.. Although every stress point on that rod has been stressed before the test. HA.. I would have made a life size photo of that fish and put the rod in a display case on the wall. Those are some big Gar..

i think you are right I'm pretty sure a new rod of that model could have done it, might have helped to stand on a chair or something too so they angle would have been easier on the rod.
i thought about keeping that rod around and maybe i should..
