Here is the situation: I'm a bass and bream fisherman that occasionally gets lucky and catches a few crappies while fishing for bream. I understand that most crappies are caught holding over brushpiles and other structure, but I fish with a bass fisherman, so we do not go looking for brushpiles.

So here is my question: .If I used a beetle spin or crappie jig and worked it over submerged grass this time of year while my buddy runs the trolling motor and we move down the bank, is is likely I could catch a few crappies, or would I be wasting my time? I do not even know if they are deep or shallow this time of year?.
