Dock fishing crappie for the first time

Usually we go and bass fish from the boat , but i want to give the crappie a try this weekend. Ill be at the Docks on eagle mountain . Any pointers on bait or depth would be much appreciated.

Just saw this... Our fish have been coming from a couple of cranks from the bottom
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Was there today, agree with 2 cranks off the bottom. Blue was the color of the day for me.
I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.
