Well as most of us know, the crappie are heading up the creeks (at least after the front coming in tomorrow) and it's time to break out the jig and bobber set up and get after them. With the lake levels like they are, this year should be the best creek fishing years since 2011 (pending no floods). I have some plans to announce in a couple of weeks when things come together. I went and scouted a creek on Tuesday and quickly got on a pattern. I found the fish biting good about 1 ft under a bobber around structure on Chartruese Thump Chubbies. Here are a couple of pictures from the trip. Here are a couple of video's of creek fishing from the past few years. It will only get better as it gets colder.

The rig in the top video is a pegged float with a 1/16 oz jig below it. The bottom 2 videos are with a cigar slip float and a 1/8oz jig with a 1/8th split shot above that to get the float to stand up. All of the floats I use come from Walmart.

I'm going to scout a creek in the Denton area tomorrow. I will post a report of what I find. The fish should be in the creek just not in the numbers they would be if the water was below 55 degrees.

Got a few nice ones Sunday night in my creek, and lost several really good ones. They are 2-3 ft down, in about 7 ft of water, hugging submerged timber with tips of limbs above surface. Day glow bobbers suspending the jig.

I fished one creek in the Denton area today and only was able to find 5 fish . All of the brush I knew of has moved around though.

Very nice! Better get them while you can. Rain this weekend will muddy the creeks.

Creeks have been super hit or miss for me this year with the temperature swings and huge amount of fishing pressure. 2 weeks ago I caught my limit and threw back at least 15 more solid keepers off of one spot in about 3 hours on submerged brush fishing 10 ft down. This week only a few dinks fishing that same spot. The rain certainly didn't help and neither has the warm weather. Hopefully, this cold snap will send another wave of fish into the creeks. Only time will tell. Below is a pic of the limit.

Been hitting the creek fish hard for the last couple of days because this weekend will put a hurting on them for a good while. Fished Monday and found the fish stacked up and hungry after the cold weather last week. Found the fish about 10 ft down over submerged brush. Caught 35 or so with at least 20 keepers (wasn't keeping). Most were good eaters but had a couple in the 13-14 inch range. Wind made it tough to jig and bobber them so I left them biting. All were caught on feather jigs. On Tuesday I went scouting to get out of the wind and found a few fish in a new creek but most were small so I quickly left and checked on another creek and got into some bigger fish. This creek had fish that were shallow (1-2ft) and were aggressive once located. I was using 3 inch zoom flukes and feel that maybe it helped on getting some nicer fish. Here is a short video from yesterday. I hope you all enjoy. Monday's video will be up next week.

Jimmy, I have struggled as well since the last flood. This warmer weather isn't helping at all. Should get better in 2-3 weeks.
