That video reminds me of my dad. The whole time I was growing up all I can ever remember my dad fishing is either a green creme worm or a tiny torpedo for bass that's it. Of course he fished with 1 of his 2 or 3 Mitchell 300 spinning combos.Brings back a lot of memories.

what a great video !! I started bass fishing a few years after this video . Learned everything from either BASS Master magazine or Bill Dance on TV . Techniques were so limited compared to today . Manns jelly worms were the best available , black grape , cherry , and scuppernong . Texas rigging was the only way we used them . Big O's were brand new and they caught bass like crazy. Pistol grip rods and baitcasters like the Garcia 5000D reels . We used to call the 5000D a "knuckle buster " --- the handle would go backwards when the drag was engaged and usually chewed up your hand .
That video shows Bill Dance losing an 8 lber AND the $15K check , back then -- $15K was a lot of money.
WOW , things have really changed ----all for the better .

I used to ride three wheelers and fish there as a kid.
