Smacked the green fish in housen last Saturday. Full on feeding frenzy! We waited till after lunch to go out since full moon. Stayed out deep 15 - 25. Saw lots of people fishing shallow grass. We alternated between drop shot and crig. Lot of trees showing now. About 5' low.

Thank you! At 5ft low are all the normal boat lanes still in good shape?

I just returned from a trip since Sunday. My intentions were to learn to fish deep. With it being fall I couldn't resist the temptation of going shallow, but I could never find the big groups of shad. Did manage a few ripping sq bill through outer grass line. Most fish caught came in 30-35 ft water on Crig watermelon red brush hog. Really tough for me all week on Texas side. I seemed to locate the bigger groups of shad on the LA side. Not sure why, maybe wind direction? Not lights out like I was hoping for, but I did manage to catch more deep than shallow. It was a successful trip. I had no problems running in boat lanes.

Thanks! Sounds in line with what I have been hearing, some big ones showing up occasionally in the shallow grass but for the most part they are still grouped up out deep. TBLA Lunker Program count is at 21 so far for this period with 4 in September, and 3 in October... none in November yet!
