I like the Mad Frog Liberator transducer arm, it's sleeker than the Ram and swings up out of the water easily.

I put a thick bed of silicon on the inside of the hull and pushed the transducer into the middle all the way to the hull. The silicon formed a seal around the transducer and once it cured holds it in place. Mine works great, no problems in over a year.

DIY external transducer mount. I didn't come up with this idea, but I like it way better than goop in my kayak. It fits in the rod holder. I can also clamp this to a canoe thwart. I rarely use my fish finder anymore unless I'm going to unfamiliar water body.

I have this Humminbird kit in my Commander, and it works great. Put a little water in it and it works just as well as it does hanging over the side. Plus, it's out of the way and doesn't hang on anything. I think ACK sells them for about $39.

I went the other way. Had it in the water, now I have it through the hull. Used duct seal, and it works great. I don't see any loss of resolution.
