In your opinion whats the best pond for trout fishing? Every year I go to the Northwest park pond in Irving and never catch any.

I fish at Hurst Chisholm Park, which is not far from you. Almost any of the stocked ponds will work. Maybe you need to change your approach. A few years ago I wrote an article on a method which will nearly always catch trout. Read it here.Common mistakes are too large a hook or the wrong bait. A lot of trout are caught on hot dogs or marshmallows or some such, but the baits formulated for trout are best. If you cannot find the small treble hooks a #10 or #12 gold Aberdeen hook will work. The trout are best caught on the day they are stocked or early in the morning on the days following the stocking. Trout stop biting as well by 9 AM, and later in the day they are harder to catch. The best time is just after sunrise. After a week the trout are mostly gone, caught by cormorants or anglers.

I'll fish the day of the stocking, as well.

I have fished many ponds in the DFW area and my experience has been to take several different baits with you because what works at ponds and rivers varies and even in the same location changes from year to year. Baits I bring with me: Berkley floating trout bait in several colors. Green has always worked better for me for some reason. I have been told that the food that feed them at the fishery is green and perhaps that is why? Marshmallows Trout worms in several different colors Bread Velveeta cheese Corn Salmon eggs And of course the regular artificials: Super Dupers in different sizes in gold and silver, Panther Martins and Rooster tails. Look at reports online before you go and ask around on location. A no brainer, be courteous and most fishermen will be eager to share information or just watch and see what is working for others and then create yourself a pattern.
One thing I have noticed is usually they swim the pond in schools. If I have a spread of 3 to 4 rods roughly in the same area when I get a bite on one rod the others follow pretty quickly.
Lastly, trout rarely eat directly off the bottom. My experience has been that the bait either had to be suspended or floating off the bottom.
That's all I got.

Trout are stocked in Community Fishing Ponds. There is a legal limit of 2 rods. See this TPWD page.

I fished South lakes in Denton Wednesday and only caught one trout. I'm going to hit it in the morning to see if they are getting active since they were stocked Wednesday.

Thanks guys for the 2 rod limit reminder. I forgot to mention I usually have anywhere from 2 to 4 kiddos with me when I go. Trying to get them hooked on fishing, but all they want to do is go play at Eureka park. I bargain with them, after we catch a limit then we pack up and they can go play. Whatever works right? Tight lines yall!
