I haven't been to Tawakoni in a few months. I will be there next week for a few days of much needed fishing, and have never used the State Park Ramp. My question is, can you call them or register to get in earlier than when they open?
I normally use Anchor Inn North and stay in W. Tawakoni, but I feel my luck has run out in that area, and I know the State Park is safer for my belongings.

To answer your question, yes you can but not sure you can do it over the phone. You can, or I did, buy a State Park Pass for all Texas parks there at the office. You can then call them the day before you go and they will give you the combination for the lock at the gate. Don't know if you can register over the phone but worth a try. The gate opens at 7am and the office opens at 8am. It's the safest and best ramps on the lake and kept very clean. Hope this helps.

Yessir, it does, thanks! I have a State Park Pass, so it seems a phone call is all I need.

They also have a drop box with forms with window stickers. Really only good between 7 and 8 when the gate is open but office is not. Used it several times. Make sure you have a pen with you. And 5 bucks.

The park ranger lives there. He usually opens the gate a little early.
