I'll be heading down there next weekend, so I hope it's good then! Hope you get something good too. I was going to try some of the jetties and I have 2 ghost shrimp pumps that I made so I'll be getting some of them for bait too!
Fly tier (yeah, I can fly fish...but the fish don't like frothy water!)

The Galveston Daily News has a way for us to subscribe to the "Reel Report" column only. Each day at about 7pm, the fishing report for Galveston area will be sent to you via email. No charge. This includes Offshore reports. Google GDN and go from there.

I heard that they are catching a few trout and Spanish mackerel off the Galveston pier.

Fished the surf off Bolivar, nice pretty green water up to the third bar into the second gut but no luck. I am heading back this friday with another TTF member, so hopefully luck will change.
Not sure where if we will do the bays, jetties or both.

We fished there last weekend for the first time ever. I had never navigated the Galveston waters before, and had no idea where to fish. Thanks to the TFF forum advising me to download the Navionics app, and using its automatic routing functions, I was able to fish 2 days without running aground. I also bought the TroutSupport DVD series, and did some pre-fishing by planning my fishing locations based on wind and time of year. Tobin was kind enough to spend about an hour on the phone with me validating my initial thoughts on where and how to fish these areas. Well, the results were spectacular on the first day on the water. We just followed the rules and did relatively well, considering it was the first time ever at Galveston. Although we didn't fare as well on the 2nd day because too many boats were out on Saturday and I couldn't navigate around like I wanted to. I will continue to learn these techniques and will get better with more time on the water. Thanks again to Tobin at TroutSupport.com Tim

Troutsupport dvds are a must tool for beginners and old salts. Learn something new each time watch them. Tobin has done a great thing for anglers to shorten and hone skills on locating and catching fish. Highly recommend them to everyone.

im looking for a place to fish in Galveston after I return from my cruise on Monday 14th, where is the best place I can go, what fish are biting and what bait should I use? how much would a charter for just 1 person cost me? not sure if anyone is going out fishing that day or Tuesday the 15th that I could join in your charter group.

I would definitely go on a charter as opposed to walking in. Flounder and redfish have been good and trout are doing well between fronts.
