I have a 2010
Yamaha VMAX Series 2 Engine. Coming from the lower unit are two ground type wires, one has come loose (no damage to connector) and I can not find where it reattaches to, it must have come from inside because there is no bolt hole or nut missing, and it was not like that yesterday. It does not affect the engine performance. I read it could be an anode(?) which connects the lower unit and bottom unit for grounding purposes and keep parts from corroding... Anyone with a similiar engine would appreciate a little guidance...
Thanks

Goes under a grease insert. They get knocked off using motor trailering supports that go in the trim area.

you may wanna consider buying a MotorMate saver.
p/n 10-302-SS

no more broken fittings with these.

I fixed it several weeks ago. Backed out with an easy out, installed new part, piece of cake! I also purchased a motor mate to support my transom and not worry about this issue again.
