15' Yak, 20' cedar tree. First time i've ever sunk my own brush pile. For you brush pile experts ... how long before this tree will start producing. There's no doubt it's in the right place, It's on the end of a long point in a primary cove at the intersection of two secondary coves. Will it be seasoned enough to start holding fish this spring?

As soon as the bait starts hanging around it crappie and bass will be there, I have sunk fresh cedar trees one day and caught a bass off them the next day.

How were you able to do this without being seen ? Question #2, could you provide the exact location of the brush pile and we could help monitor it for you ? popcorn

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

It's in Virginia. Not a soul on the lake, one guy standing on his dock watched me pass by but I was way out of his sight where I unloaded it. It was about a 3/4 mile journey.

Too far for me to drive, lol. My fishing buddy and I sunk some brush on Tawakoni years ago and now we can't find it. Thinking waves moved it or the brush came loose from the concrete weights. The idea of using a kayak looks good. Hope it holds fish for you.

I used good poly rope and ran it through sections of some old garden hose to avoid any abrassion on the cinder blocks. At first I thought I should use a smaller tree, didn't know how the Yak would handle it but it went smooth. I got up alongside of the Yak and tipped it just a little bit and the tree slipped right off.

That's a good idea, I just used an old tube we had lying around and threw my brush on top of that

Judging by my experience at Cedar Creek this weekend, fish do not gather on brush piles, I think you are wasting your time... grin
