Two weeks without fishing, and I was itching to get out of the house this morning and kayak my way up the Yegua Creek. With the past rains, I was convinced that the water might not be the most welcoming, but figured it would be better than sitting at home and working. My suspicions were correct, and the water was muddy and had a brisk flow. I fished regardless, and did manage to find some crappie, but lucky for them, they went back home and not my frying pan. There was plenty of shotgun fire in the distance, and actually for the first time, ran into a a boat with duck hunters at Wolf Pond...Now, It's my understanding they probably shouldn't of been there, but as I approached, the packed up and left the creek. Spent the day enjoying the sunshine and the wildlife regardless of the lack luster fishing.

How much rain do you think we will get and how much will it effect the fishing?

It doesn't look like it will be more than a quickly passing storm. I'm concerned, since the Yegua is still slowly clearing, that it will muddy up again, even with a small shower.

Judging from the forecast, last night, there may be some heavy storms scattered around the area. Who knows where they will hit. I guess we will have to wait and see...

I doubt any of my bunch want to fight the north wind and weather Saturday even though it should be sunny. The fishing is very likely to be difficult at best.

Cajun crappie Jeff, I'll let you know the next time I have the opportunity to kayak up the creek. If the fishing up the creek J-Moe and I fished today was any indication I suspect the fishing up the Yegua and Nails was really good.. Not what I had expected with blue-bird clear skies and cold front pushing in but thats why I go even when I think the fishing is gonna stink.. today I was way off base..

Well, I am officially in Bryan. Just need to unpack and find some time to hit the lake and creeks.
