I choose the flyrod. When I am fishing for sunfish I always use my flyrods. Love working the water with a fly. It seems that a fly bait works better with currents and water flow in general. I also love the feeling I get when I catch a fish on a fly that I made. I have only been fly fishing for three years. The only regret I have is I wished I started sooner!



Side Note: On other fish I target such as Crappie,Cats,Bass,etc I use the spinning rigs.

You know my answer Curtis! Ultralight Spinning gear 100 percent! However after fishing with some OUTSTANDING Fly Anglers I can see a real art to fly fishing! They really work their baits and presentation. It is amazing to watch!

No surprise here, it's all about the fly rod. You ever try to throw a 1/124 ounce jig on a spinning rod, LOL. I fish with a fly rod over 90% of the time. Not just for sunfish but for all species. The whole experience of tying different flies for different species, situations and presentations keeps me excited as a 10 year old. I've tied flies and caught hybrids, white bass, stripers, small mouth buffalo, carp, gar, bass, rios, sunfish, crappie, drum, bluegill, etc. I also started to recognize the differences in each of the sunfish species and adapt different presentations and flies when targeting each. Add to that the enjoyment of casting a fly rod vs a spinning rod and there's just no comparison for me. Can you tell I'm passionate
