Saw that ACK has the diablo amigo on sale for $800. Anyone have experience with these and thoughts on speed, stability, and tracking?

Speed is good, stability is great, and you will need the Skeg kit for tracking.

I have the Adios and love it. Switched from a Wildy Ride 135 and am glad I did. The Amigo is basically the poly version and super stable. Yes the skeg helps.

Thanks for the feedback. Now I see that the ocean kayak prowler 13 is on sale at Academy for $499. Decisions, decisions. Definitely the season for deals.

If you plan to move around a lot and never stand up, then I would consider the Prowler 13. IF you want to stand, then don't bother with the Prowler.

That seems to be the dilemma. I'd like to do both but not sure what boats in my price range could offer that.

My suggestion would be to figure out what will fit most of your needs and go that route and then save up and get the other if feel like you need it.

I really want an Amigo and something like an ATAK or Coosa HD for when the Amigo would be less than optimum.

I will probably go with the Coosa or ATAK first and then get an Amigo if I decide I need one.

I have the Diablo Chupacabra the stability is awesome. You will trade speed for stability but I feel it is worth it. If you are going to pitch and flip you will appreciate the stability. Also works great for sight casting reds on the flats. As far as tracking, the skeg is a must. Without the skeg you're going to put in some work. The same goes with windy days. I've had the Chupacabra for about 18 months now and absolutely love it.
