I saw this idea on the Wired2Fish website. I haven't seen it mentioned here before so I thought I'd share.

The idea is to insert a rivet sleeve into the head of a Super Fluke so there is an easy way to run line through the bait. Then, you tie on an O ring and a #4 treble and snug it up against the belly. The article goes into more detail about how to do it. It loses a lot of its weedlessness when you do this so it's better for open water. I tried it with a pack of rivets with a 1/2" grip range and 5/32" diameter. It worked okay but I want to see if there are any 1/2" with a smaller diameter. It looks like Super Gluing the rivet in place is another good idea.

You could downsize the rivet for smaller flukes or use this with other similar swimbaits.

I have a really high hook up percentage with texas rigged flukes. Treble set up seems snaggy too, but I guess if you are fishing open water go for it.

I've tested this with some other soft paddle tails. You must get that rivet sleeve perfectly straight or it doesn't fall or swim correctly.

I've done similar rigging with a small straw like those that come with a can of WD40 or a coffee stirrer to make a line thru style swimbait.
