Had a trip share with new fishing buddies Scott and James. James drove down from Oklahoma so we picked him up at Solders Creek. It was a cold boat ride from Mill creek but it turned into a near perfect day on big Tex. Started fishing the rocky banks with swim baits, caught some nice sandies and a couple stirper. According to Chris it was a slow morning but seemed decent to me. Switched to slabs and moved around, not many birds working but if you do see them it is worth it to check it out. We did and found some nice fish under them. You have to work through a lot of small fish to get the good ones but don't leave right away because there always seem to be good ones mixed it. As the day went on the fish catching increased, we caught fish after fish after fish. You never know what you are going to get - drum, lmb, sandies, crappie, or striper. The lake is full of fish and shad. Late in the day I was very fortunate to hook a drag screamer. I was fishing with a light rig so took a while to land a 31" healthy striper. I had the barbs removed so did not hurt the fish and he was released. I lost count but we keept 50 or 60 fish for the grease. I only took 2 pics, 31" striper and about the same size cat caught while Chris cleaned fish.
If I had not caught a single fish but that one striper it would have been worth it.

I went on an afternoon trip with Striper Express yesterday and had a ball!! The guides with Striper Express are the best around!! They work harder than any other guide I've ever used to put us on fish. What a great bunch!
