I guess I'm going to have to get over to the pines so I can give you a report, I can't believe nobody has a report. It must be very good and they are keeping it a secret, LOL
If it was easy, everyone would do it

I'm gonna go sink some trees Tuesday and do a little scouting. I'll report back if I find anything worth talking about.

Tommie usually has some good LOP reports on here but I have not seen a posting from him in a long time. I'm waiting on the December rush to join the other 100 boats. ha!

Tommie hasn't been fishing in a couple weeks or he would chime in. I think he is waiting on my report so that he will be able to catch some fish and give his report.

I drove across the dam / spillway last Thursday, I saw 6 boats out in big water down by damm where the crappie usually follow the creeks in deep water. They were spread out from mouth of Johnson creek to damm, I did not speaks to anyone that had fished in last 5 days. so no report from me on availability or amounts of fishes being removed. I will not charge anyone credit card for this report, first one on me.
Smile while you still have teeth.

since it was such a beautiful day, I decided to go today.
I put in at Alley Creek about 11:00 and motored up to Mims chapel area. I found lots of Bass, bream and some crappie fishing stumps alone river. Moved out into Black Lake and finished a limit of good size 12-15" fish. They were not stacked up, had to dip lots of stumps and underwater laydowns. Best color was a "Bubble Gum" Big Bite on a 1/16 oz head. they seemed to like the slow fall. most were suspended about 10-14'.

Thanks for the detailed report That's a typical guide report. They don't want to give away all their trade secrets or it might cut into their business.

I went yesterday and started fishing around 9:30 after I sunk a few giant piles. I can't seem to find the GPS coordinates or I would share them with everyone. I covered a lot of water and the best concentrations of fish that I found were holding in 10-15' and were right on the bottom. It didn't seem to matter if it was brush piles, stumps, timber, or drop offs as long as the depth was right and my jig was on the bottom. I tried a plethora of different jig sizes and colors and the best was any plastic in the Thermocline Lures Copper Mine pattern. I was using 2" flukes and 3" tadpoles and they didn't seem to care about the size difference. I fished from midlake to the dam and finished the day w/ 24 blacks and 1 white crappie. No giant whites on this trip, but solid 11-13" thick black crappie. Also had a limit of largemouth and found it's way into my cooler. There is no need to rush to Pines just yet. The fish are still scattered and I had to cover tons of water to get my limit. Give it another month before you take your vacation time.
