I have pretty specific question: on the SW side of Wolf Island, just west of the big boulders and erosion area but not quite to the pond, there is, for lack of a better term, a rock reef that extends out from the shore. It extends out well into the lake, is generally a couple of feet higher than either side. I noticed it when the lake was down and I had to be careful of hitting the motor on it. It is obviously now well below the water line. QUESTION: I cannot find it on my navionics or the Ray Robert map (the laminated one with everything marked). Am I imagining the whole thing?

There are some foundations there. Only one is shown on Navionics, could that be what you were seeing?

How far from the bank are you talking? There is a pond/hole on the sw corner and a dam/rocky ridge there. On the east side of the island there is a similar feature that extends out into the timber towards Robison Pond cove. Just north of that there is a road bed that runs east west just north of the island. There is a deep hole on the east side of the island between the ridge and road bed with other structure relief. Running due south of the island is a long ridge that extends almost all the way to the south shoreline. There are stumps all on top of it. The whites usually stack on this ridge when it starts cooling off. At normal pool the top of the ridge is in 18-25 ft If memory serves me right the east and south east side of the island was a gravel pit. I wish I had taken pictures as all of this was out of the water when they drew the lake down 28 ft to work on the dam years ago.

Rlrob- that has to be it -- if it is a foundation, it's busted up pretty thoroughly.
I thought it might be the dam to the pond but it isn't quite in the right spot for that.
Thanks guys!!!!!

Yes right there in the image above is roughly where the pond/hole I am talking about. I believe it was a pond running north south parallel with the island with a rocky dam/bank on the sw end with deep water close by.

Rlrob: where is the imagery from. I tried to get a look from dfwmaps but the survey stops at Denton county line (love that site for scouting)

Rog: Do you think that is the pond dam? I always though the pond was a little more west. Anyway, doesn't matter the pictures will help me orient myself once I get there.
I really appreciate y'all's help - I really didn't think anybody would know what I was talking about.

Google Earth and go back in time to see the lake at lower levels. The pond dam is on the west side of the long rocky point, right next to it. Contour maps will show the point (my Lowrane does). The point seems to have people on it through out the day, but if your timing is right the fish will show up. Last two fish I caught were small mouth with the largest being 3.5 lbs.

Neches, sorry for giving up your secret spot. There are a lot of people on this forum that just want help to learn more and get better...including me. Figured it was the least I could do to help someone else.

I really appreciate y'all's help - I really didn't think anybody would know what I was talking about. It's been a while since I fished but yes a little to the west. What Rlrob said. Don't fish Roberts at all anymore as boat now at fork......another spot to check out is long point/ridge up in Wolfe with creek bend at the end by red barn..... good luck
