I am noticing a new trend of companies making black braid. I don't use braid to much, but I am trying to use it more. I typically use braid to carolina rig, frog and flip. I do the least amount flipping, as I like deep water.

Do you think black braid has an edge on moss green braid? And if it does, is it only in certain conditions?

I do believe that black braid helps in certain situations. In water that's dingy or dirty I believe moss green or black doesn't make a difference. However, in clear or slightly stained water I believe that the black helps a little bit.

Braid isn't made for its stealth qualities. I think the color thing is pure preference.

in my experience....black braids tend to "bleed"....then fade..

I believe that if a company created a braid that held it's color they would have a great selling product.

If you want to try black, get some Spike-It Galic in black. Run you braid thru a sinker, hold the tag end & drop the sinker in the bottle of black. Then pull thru how much braid you want to dye black. You now have stealth & scent. You're welcome.

Sounds like a very clever marketing team for a company that's been watching people take a black sharpie to normal green braid once it becomes worn out.

When I fished with Matt Lee last year, he and his brother both had bright yellow, pink, lime green, and purple braids. They had them bright so they can see it and different colors for different pound strength. They caught a lot of fish. And the fish didn't seem to mind. And it was on one of the most pressured, super clear water lakes around.
