I caught this 10 lb 11oz catfish today on a tiny size 6 hook with corn while fishing for my true passion carp. It had no freckles and was very fat.

I discovered to my surprise while trout fishing that catfish seem to like corn when a little stink like garlic powder is lightly added.
Its my favorite cat bait now.
You proved my point with your catch.

The curved anal fin gives it away.

A buddy and I took a can of corn to the lake once in hopes of catching some carp to fertilize his tomatoes. We caught a good mess of small channels, and not a single carp.

That's a very good channel. They don't often get that big.
