Mother Nature interrupted us mid morning yesterday, and forced us to run for the dock and sit for 3.5 hours. Luckily when we got back out, we found the bite we had to leave. Although, it was slower after the storms we stuck with it to put together a nice box of fish. Today was the final day of their fishing adventure and it ended with trout limits by noon. In 3 days these boys ended with 15 bulls, 4 big black drum, 38 keeper trout, and no telling how many smalls. None the less they are leaving with sore arms and lots of good memories. I would hope they talk about their adventure for a long time to come. All the trout were caught on Down South Lures, plum/chart, blue moon, southern shad, kickin' chicken, and Softdine Corky's. Even with the water still in coastal flood stages we were able to find areas in the back marsh around thigh deep, where bait was pushed up against windward shorelines. If our winter fishing continues to be this strong, we are in for an outstanding season.
