Have any of you made your own lure retriever? Interested to see some pictures of what you have come up with. If you have bought one which do you recommend?

Are you talking about the Pole or the weight or the one on a Rope?
I use a telescoping Golf Ball Retreiver with the loop on the end for less than 12'. Or a "hound dog" style on a rope. Or you can just make your own with a paperclip and 2oz weight like Clark Rheem showed on the forum.

Go to Academy buy their lure knocker for $5 and add your own chains to it with #8 split rings and small chain you can buyat home depot. You'll have about $6-7 in it and they work pretty good.

Bass Pro sells the same thing with the chains for around $14

I saw the Clark Rheeme video on here, made a couple and they work like a champ. Also have the expensive chain knocker and it hangs up on any wood it comes in contact with. The lead weight works better IMO.

This ^^...I added a stronger rope and attached to a marker bouy in case I dropped it. Cheap investment that has paid for it self hundreds of times. If under 12ft, I use the telescopic pole type. Faster imo

I make my own but this is the essentials

Get directly on top of the snag, clip it around your line and let it drop.

I got a Tim Horton money pole as a gift. It's works ok but limited to 18ft. Can be used as a push pole also if you are around thick shallow vegetation and want to be stealthy.

X2

These are inexpensive and work very well, best $5 I've ever spent for sure!

This is what I did except I haven't added the chains, the chains I bought weren't welded shut so they kept getting tangled around my line and it was more trouble than its worth.

I also took an old rod and cut it off right in front of the fore grip and put an old ABU Garcia 5000 to make it easier to pull the line in and store.
