Spent a week at Caddo last week. Stayed at Shady Glade RV. Went out with Paul Keith on Monday. Caught some fish, nothing of much size. Caught fish all week but only a few of any size. There really isn't much open water to fish anymore because of the Giant Salvinia. That stuff is bad news. I never realizes how bad it can get. They have 3 spray boats going 8 hours a day 5 days a week and are barely keeping the lanes open.If they don't come up with a better way that lake will be lost soon. Such a shame because that lake is so pretty. Please folks if you think invasives aren't that big a deal please make a trip to Caddo and see first hand the damage they can do.

That is a lot of work with little success it sounds. I would think dragging nets and pulling as much out everyday as they could would be more effective if the spray is not working.

Yeah that *&^% is nasty... I'd try spraying some gas on top and letting it burn!! at least on the open areas. those weevils they are trying I don't think could ever keep pace with how fast it grows. how come grass carp don't eat it?!?!

They introduced grass carp a few years back. The carp just turned their nose from it.

This is why I don't even go there anymore. Hate to see what it has and is doing to that great lake. Sad.

That sucks!!! That is my favorite lake by far... It is so pretty and it's like being on another planet when you are there... Plus you hardly see any other boats...
I use to fish there every single day when I lived in Shreveport..
work, fish, sleep repeat...

Louisiana Side is a lot more fishable and we have been doing pretty good.
