Today I fished LW and broke down, as I was stranded there I waived down a bass boat who turned and came straight towards me but then turned away and left. About 15 minutes later another bass boat came by and I tried to wave him down for help but he just looked at me and kept going, then out of nowhere a 12 or 14 ' alumacraft flat bottom boat with a five horsepower engine (I think) pulled up and asked if I needed some help. I told them that my batteries were dead and I was broke down. Without any hesitation they handed me there battery which started the engine but wouldn't stay running when I disconnected to give them there battery so once again without hesitation they said it will take us awhile but we will pull you in to the dock. At one point they complimented me on my boat and my rod and reels so as we approached the dock I was so appreciative that they took away there time from fishing to help a stranger in need in there little flat bottom boat I handed them one of my rod and reel setups (abu 6000 with Rippin lips rod). You could imagine the look on his face when I handed it to him. I thanked them both and we exchanged names and handshakes. Thanks again to Wesley Frazier and Zach Corbin and I hope to see you two guys again on the lake! (Under better circumstances of course)

Glad you got some help for sure, sounds like some good guys. Bass fishermen are too busy to lend a hand lol...

I always stopped and helped if I saw a wave from a boater. I think it's the law to render aid when needed, but that's not why I did it.

pretty sure it is against the law to not render aid to a stranded boater

It's all good, if there is a lake to be stranded on Lake Worth is the best one because odds are that you will float to someone's dock. Yes, there are some good people out there and I can honestly say that when it comes to fishing I meet more good than bad people. thumb

That's exactly why I keep one of these on board. Holds a charge for months and has more than enough juice to jump my Optimax several times on a single charge.
