Ripped thru matted grass? A technique I have not mastered. Must be fairy wand fishing. You need a metal pole and 200 lb braid for ripping matted vegetation. If you up size your trap you may be able to punch through and rip.

Take the hooks off,helps with ripping trough and over mats.
