I am looking for a 16 to 19 foot used fishing boat. Visited 2 dealers today and both of them had 2013 2014 tracker traded in within last two days and available for sale. Trying to figure out if it's a good boat or if it has any concerns in terms of too much height or riding in the shallow water. Seems very odd that so many of same boats to be turned in to dealers next to each other within 2 days. Any advice if you can give is appreciated.

I have a 2002 Tracker Targa --walk thru dual console , 17'6" . It's a V-hull with a 115 4 stroke Mercury . The pro's , it's easy on gas , easy to trailer and tow ( I have an old Tundra , but used to tow it with a 4-Runner ) . I can put tons of stuff in my boat , I have not had any issues with the hull or trailer . The motor has had some issues , but mostly related to the not driving it hard enough to keep the sparkplugs clean .
The drawbacks ----- the front deck is to small for two people , the aluminum construction makes the boat light , but also makes it a little more difficult to handle on windy days , especially of your trying to finesse fish with plastics . It's OK in wind less than 10mph , anything over 15-20mph , really difficult to fish plastics slowly.
I liked it when my kids were little and I wanted them to participate in using the boat , the deeper construction made it easier to have them both on it and for me to feel safer with them .
If your a tournament guy , with two people fishing , these are not the best set up .
tight lines ,
Robb

I would want at least the 18.5 Tourn. Pro for storing the longer rods in the box and out on the deck. Every extra foot you can afford will be a little better ride. If I was getting one it would be their 19 footer.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Fished out of a 18ft 2013 Tracker this weekend. I have a big Ranger and had never fished out of a Tracker. There were 3 of us and I was concerned on how we would do in this boat. Well to my surprise we had plenty of room, the boat got on plane as you would expect any bass rig to with 3 grown men in it. The 4 stroke mercury ran like a champ. I was very impressed with everything about this boat. The friend I was fishing with said he paid around 14K for it as a hold over 13 model in late 14. The only thing I noticed that was really different than my boat was it was harder to hold with the TM in the wind and if we all were walking around, the boat would rock considerably more than a big glass boat. If I was in the market for an aluminum boat in this size and price range I would not hesitate in considering this boat.
Good Luck with your search.

I have a 2013 Tracker Targa V-18 Combo. No issue. Only drawback is the 70lbs thrust trolling motor.
