Can anyone give me an update on Ivie.
Is there enough water to launch without problems?
Is the fishing stable?
Did Jerry sell out? Sure would miss those burgers!
Love fishing that lake but it's been a while.
Thanks for the info

Wife and I just got back this afternoon in the pouring rain from four days of bass fishing at Ivie. We took the fifth wheel and Skeeter boat and fish six to eight hours per day all four days. Wife dragged a finesse worm behind the boat, I tried cranks, rattle traps, and jigging. She caught more than I did the first day. I put on a trick worm, finesse worm, and magnum zoom worm all in the color she caught them on the first day. We caught around thirty to forty the second day. All on the finesse worms. Used three packages of zoom watermelon red ones, tip of tails dipped in garlic glow. I think it's a chartreuse color. After four days of fishing we never caught an over. Had a 17 1/2"s three 16"s, two over 15" and probably a hundred between us of them from 10" to 14".
We left in the rain this morning and it rained on us all the way home.
Trip was great, Store is still for sale. They opened at six, I think cooked at noon but closed around four or five every day. We were the only ones in a camper there, two cabins were rented behind the camper and the guys there were cat fishing and a couple were crappie fishing.
We stayed in the main lake from the dam to across from the dam 90% of time on water. Went to Turkey Bend one day and fished but all were small fish. Just stay in the weeds, in the cuts across from dam seemed the fish we caught loved the windy side of the lake.
Launch is good.

Thanks a lot. Sounds like you'll found fish. As long as you are in the right area, you'll eventually catch a toad on that lake.
I think I'll get a trip booked. Not many folks fishing it right now I guess.
Thanks again

There were usually only four to six or seven pickups n trailers in the parking lot. We started at day break on the first day and didn't catch many fish till around 9:00am so we slept till eight the next few days and caught just as many. We did though spend all day from 9:00 am till around 5:00 pm fishing. If the rain hadn't started today would have still been there. Also opening rifle season on deer starts this Saturday and I haven't missed opening day except for twice in the last 25 years. One was for a daughter getting married and one for a grandson getting born.... Lol
We love fishing this time of year because of the cooler days. Told my wife might try to get my deer all shot and in freezer then head to coast for a while.... Lol
Good luck at Ivie. Won't be long till the big ones will be headed deeper.

I'm missing deer season for the first time in 52 years. I took a look at my den and couldn't figure out where to hang any more deer heads.
However, I have no 13 lb bass on the wall, so necessity dictates that I must keep fishing...
Good Luck

That's a great and thorough fishing report. Thanks!

Will kind of echo what BassinFever said. Was there last Saturday and caught fish from the damn all the way up the Colorado. No size though. Bunch of small fish. Buddy managed to lose a pretty decent fish, but other than that it was a lot of 12-17 inch fish.

I already did that. Built a 30' x 25' garage for my boat and have more heads hanging in there.
My last triumph was the Texas Slam, a big whitetail, mule deer, and antelope.
I am really enjoying fall fishing.

Fishing around Ivie, you'll see a lot of good bucks, and have a good chance of catching a whopper, too.
