This kid is in 10th place in the Houston division and yes he needs a captain. It's the only way they get to fish and so far we've had some really great guys that have donated their boat and time. I've been amazed at what these volunteers have done for our kids, they have been exceptional. Tournament is December 10th. Thanks.

I agree with Jaret above. We do need a "captain" page. I also think it is time we teach our young folks "HOW" to ask by following up the request with "willing to do whatever I need" to get a captain. You cant blame the kids. It's the world they are growing up in. It's up to the advisors/coaches and parents to do this.

I captained for this young man at the last tournament on Somerville. He is one of the most respectful individuals I have met in a long time. When it comes to willing to do whatever him and his parents will no questions asked. His mother drove him an hour and a half one way to the lake to practice with me, returned home then came back when our day was over. He thanked me over and over and offered to pay for fuel.

That is good to hear and I was in no way belittling the young man. I am sure he is quite the gentlemen. I tell my kids, don't even ask if you cant at least pay for fuel. I had a team a few years back who spent 30 minutes every two weeks mowing a captains lawn for his services. Usually a nice boat cleaning will do the trick as well. Some of our kids do not have the means to pay for stuff like that, but they have the means to put provide a service or two.

Its always nice to at least see the kids taking some initiative to ask WELL in advance. Obviously, it means something to them and that's what it's all about.

That's good to hear, it's nice to help out a young man who appreciates it. Hope he finds a captain

I totally agree as well, I just think a page devoted to high school bass fishing would concentrate some of the questions
