Ended up catching some small ones in 15-18 ft. of water. No sandies on the road beds either. Think epicoutdoors is right.

I found some froggy looking water yesterday while prefishing for this coming weekends kayak TOC tournament.

Lots of bait shallow as this guy was checking out a school of big shad circling on the surface.

Fishing was tough as usual.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I went yesterday and I went deep into the coves and creeks on the Southwest side of the lake. First spot I came to I saw 4 bass just under the surface in about 4ft - 6ft of water just hanging out near timber. I pitched a baby brush hog in front of them and caught 3 of the 4 and all 3 were good slots. Caught a good amount of dinks to 2 pounders on the square bill and baby brush hog after that and then I switched to a Spook and was throwing it throughout the timber in the backs of the coves and creeks and I caught 3 more decent slots. Left about 5pm with over a dozen boated. Actually one of the better days I've had at Fork in the last few months.

It was pretty dead late this morning. Two of us fished for 2hrs and manged 2 blowup on a frog. No bait moving and just kinda dead everywhere we went.

Never hurts to hire a guide every once and awhile...kind of like taking a golf lesson when you aren't scoring like you should. Plenty of good guides on the lake that will get you back on track. My two cents anyway.

Lake fork is not for the faint of heart these days to say the least, it can be as bad as any lake out there at times. But what created my love affair with her I still believe to be true, that it is the best chance to catch big 7+ lb fish. I still catch s higher ratio there than anywhere else I go it seems, even Toledo. Now Toledo is way more fun to fish though
