Please mark your calendars for Saturday October 29th for an upcoming free event, Fly Fish 101, at the Marine Creek Lake Park 4801 Marine Creek Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76179 near the Tarrant County College Northwest campus.

We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. Park at south parking lot, gravel lot.
No waders required as instructors will be on the lake banks teaching warm water techniques for sunfish and largemouth bass. My understanding is the fish have been turning on as of late with some bass on the beds, so we expect a good catch for beginners.

You will need a valid Texas fishing license! But you won't need any equipment or flies. CCI's and other instructors will be present for training.

Feel free to bring a friend.

I'm interested in coming to this. I'm curious though--who's sponsoring the event?

The Ft Worth Fly Fishers puts on these FF101 events with the help of members of other clubs. In the beginning I set it up for new or rank beginners who had joined our club, but soon realized that this should be available to everyone willing to attend. We like to get feedback on who will come since we provided food at many of these events.
