Me and my fishing buddy are coming down next week, 10-13 Nov. We’ll be staying at Drifter’s resort in Rockport. We are bringing my boat down, 18’ Mako CC with a 115, it will be the first time we have it in salt. We’re looking at either putting in at Conn Brown fishing Linda Ann up to Traylor Island, or putting in at Copano ramp and fishing Copano Bay. We are looking for trout, reds, and flounder. For this time of year, which area should we focus on?

there is a marina about a mile north of city by the sea that has a good double ramp and it's free. redfish bay is right there also. lots of grass with about 3-5 ft of water. you can see the marina on google earth.

Would that be Cove Harbor Marina, by Paradise Keys restaurant? Redfish bay looks awful shallow for me, but it does lead out to Aransas Bay.

All of Redfish bay is good and accessable in your boat. Estes-South--Dagger- Ransom-Steadmans bay just inside the spoils. Bone spooks on top/ clousers and decievers on the fly. Mud Is. up the Lyndia ann channel is good. If the water is high North and Middle Pass skinny site casting reds in the cow pasture on the fly. B&R is good if the water is up for your boat.

Great report, thanks! I need to research a little more and learn some of those locations, but I do know of a few of them.

Buy the Hook'N-Line Rockport Wade & Kayak waterproof fishing map. About $12 at HEB or Wal-Mart. It has GPS Waypoints for all the places you will want to go.

Just wanted to post an update, we had a blast! On day one it was rough. We put in at cove harbor marina and tried to fish Traylor Island. We caught a few undersized trout but the waves got to about 4' and white capping so we headed in and planned for the next day. So the next two days we put in at Conn Brown and caught 15 different species! It really was a great time, and thanks for all the advice from everyone here. Also, if your looking for a place to stay, Drifter's Resort is real nice and the burger stand out in front is GREAT! Over all it was a great trip, I'm already looking for another opportunity to get down there.

Yes, my expectations of the food were low, they really surprised me! Great burgers and fries! Thanks again for all the input and tips, it was a really great time!
