Skeeter used the weinie-looking bungee cords for rod tie down straps for so long. One of mine had become frayed and was about to break. Reached through the rod box under the gunnel and untied the other end. Turns out it was a two-foot bungee cord. Cut out the bad piece, reattached the hook and retied under the gunnel to a slightly shorter location.
Total time to brand new - 5 minutes. Total $$ - 0. I like it.

The only problem I had with the old style was treble hooks getting stuck in them on occasion. Then came the rubber ones that solved that problem; but became stretch out over time. Now the flat plastic pull out and hook has come along. Not sure how long it will last; but is fast and easy.

The last time I fished a Skeeter Owner's on Fork, I had one that was frayed, and the male plug for my onboard charger fell inside the gunnel. I went to the Skeeter trailer and they pulled the board up to access the charger plug. Had me fixed and gone in less than ten minutes.
The frayed, bungee cord rod tie? He dug around and handed me two brand new ones. Easy fix..
