I took a friend and 3 of his grandkids out to Eagle Mountain today. Wind was atrocious. We mainly trolled around with Old Ugly slabs, but would stop and fish when I could see stacked fish. Didn't catch anything and the 3 other fisherman I talked to at the doc said he same. I did catch a couple of bass at the dock, but felt really bad for the kids. Is it just the wind, or something else? Hate when you take out 6-8 year olds and don't put them on fish. I'm pretty new so still trying to figure this stuff out.

A lot of us are having trouble figuring out Eagle Mountain right now. One day great
next day nothing. But fish are shallow.

Finding a cove with a long point to break the wind is good. You can usually always catch them on main lake points just find one that breaks the wind and fish the side of it

Yea, I saw them pretty stacked just on the calm side of the big cove coming into Twin points. Didn't get any bites. I saw a lot on the drop off between 8-16 feet on the east side of the island. It was pretty rough there, but fishing looked good. Couldn't get a bite. And I was using the old ugly charteuse and white. Caught 2 bass in 5 minutes next to the ramp at Twin points on a square bill just waiting for the kids to get there. At that point thought the day was off to a good start. I never fish this lake anymore as it's too expensive and farther from the house. I can launch at Pool for free once I buy the state park pass.

We were out there between 8am and 1pm Saturday as well. We didn't have any luck South of the island plus the windy conditions made it difficult to fish. We primarily stayed in coves and were able to land half a dozen LMB early. Then, found some Sandies closer to lunch. We caught 15-20 mostly undersized but the keepers were thick 14 inch fish. All of our fish were caught on #2 and #3 Mepps and pink seemed to be the color of choice.
