I always pass by some and wonder if they hold fish. Now I'm keeping a setup in the truck just in case.

Unfortunately, most ponds I see are on private property and I am not so curious to either get arrested or shot! Okay, that's kind of extreme. It's more of a respect for other's private property.

I agree. I will not fish a pond that I think is on private property. There are, however, a lot of ponds with public access. I regularly stop at those.
