How's it been doing lately? thinking of going out there Saturday for 1/2 a day on the kayaks. We were out there about two months ago and they were still in their summer pattern im sure thats not the case now, so any information would be greatly appreciated!

You should do well. There is a mix of slabs (few and far between), gooduns' (every now and then), just make'ems (many) and dinks (troublesome). Brush piles are good as well as timber with lots of limbs. Minnows were more effective than a jig. If using jigs, sweeten with a nibble or something. White/chart was best. Fish were caught from 10' to 37' with the deeper water better for numbers and size from 10' to 16' and every now and then the bottom. The two biggest were 1.78lbs and 1.76lbs. Of the larger, one caught at 12' in 37' and the other on bottom at 26' - go figure. Water was 74 degrees as I recall and a pretty green clear. Morning to noon bite was best. Good luck.

buy some minnows and you'll fill a stringer. Drop it to the bottom and move it up a crank about every 10 seconds. They hit it moving almost all the time. My freezer is full of crappie now.
Had a guy fishing right next to me with minnows but on a bobber. He was only catching one an hour. Those crappie will look at your minnow forever. Ray Bob is full of shad so they are not hungry.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
