Anybody been up the creek lately? Planning in heading up next weekend finally. Water level should be perfect just wanted to know what kind of shape the place is in. Looking to bring home some crappie but if I spend all morning playing with sandies ill still be happy.

Is there a way to access the creek closer to the lake or is the parking area on 377 the only way to access it?

You MIGHT be able to park in one of those trophy club neighborhoods but I doubt it. The best spot used to be South of both bridges and walking west but they cut that off by posting signs and ticketing cars parked that way.

Yeah. Nothing on a map looks promising. I'm still fairly new to the area, how's the fishing there?

Well historically for myself and my band of misfits it has been pretty good. Currently I'm not sure. Lol ill post a full report on the 6th after I get out there. In the spring when the sandies are spawning its unreal. You'll limit in 30 min.

I went and scouted some today. Didn't fish much as I was mainly looking for brushpiles but the water level and color is good. Water was 69-71 degrees which is definitely too warm. Sweated the whole time I was there and saw 2 snakes. I did see a lot of gar surfacing as well as a lot of shad flipping. Should be good once it cools off some more.

Well its gonna rain tomorrow night and Thursday so I'm hoping that the color goes back to normal by sunday and the cooler nightly temps can drop that water a bit. How far did you go? West Past 377 bridge?

The rain coming in the next couple of days is supposed to be light so it should hurt anything. I went to the first bend west of 377 and 2 bends east of 377. It was really hard to go much further than that as the grass is really high and I wasn't wanting to push my luck after seeing 2 snakes already lol.

OH I was thinking you had a boat. Yeah I wouldn't be pushing around too many snakes either. Im at the point now that I wear hip wader/boots when I'm up there between may/Dec. Lol

Well that rain was anything but light. I would expect the water to be muddy or very stained on Sunday.
