I had Bruce out by himself on Wednesday. He only wanted to keep larger fish over 11" and I ended up cleaning 14 big crappie for him. He fished out 10 dozen minnows and had lots of throwback. He threw back more than his limit in 10" fish. Fish were caught on brush and timber both. A few brush piles were loaded with fish.
I had the pleasure of taking John and Ken out today. It was a great day for crappie fishing with light winds and great temps. They almost fished out 10 dozen minnows and I cleaned 20 nice crappie, couple of big bluegills and a channel cat. We had something big grab a crappie on a brush pile but spit him out after a battle for a little while. Got Ken's heart pumping pretty good. Most fish came on brush piles today and only a few keepers from each pile. Had to hunt for them and find the sweet spot on each pile. All fish caught of 1/16th pink jig heads tipped with minnows.
