I've been trying to get out to the lake after work a couple times during the week to get in on the transitioning bass. What I've learned so far is that I need to get a better variety of cranks.

Going out as the day winds down did get me some nice shots of the sunset, as well as a couple nice bass! Any tips to better make use of this time?

I like to throw Bandit 100's or 200's, whichever I can to just ride over the top of the weeds, lots slower presentation if you pop it loose, when it gets hung up. I also throw the oringal N lure from Norman lures, if you can find them anymore. It presents a different wobble and outline for the bass to hit. A drop shot is doing the job for me now. A droop shot/shakey head set up if there is not too much dying grass, but if there is, just a straight drop shot works fine for me during this time of year in the dying weeds. Just make sure your hook is above or right at the top of the weed cover and hang on. Been using senkos and Wave Worm Tiki Sticks and flukes for the most part. Hope this helps. Yeah you'd think it'd be a bit colder, but the water around here is pretty chilly at least

The water on Ray Roberts is still in the upper 70's. Not quite Fall fishing water temperatures quite yet.

I'll have to get a thermometer out to the lake I fish. It certainly feels a bit cooler than high 70s.
