While fishing a few days age we saw something interesting. We threw back a small Crappie that was injured. It floated near us for a while and a small 18" flathead catfish came up and tried to eat it. It was too big to get down but the cat kept pulling it down and trying. Was interesting.

I think almost every fish swimming likes to eat crappie as much as we do, especially catfish and bass.

Not sure what's going on but it doesn't matter if the fish are injured or not. The fish on LL are struggling to swim off on their own. Every fish I released today floated but then gained its strenghth. After a short while the fish would finally swim away

Cool video!

It helps if you don't step on them while taking the hook out David.

clap

I'd like to have a dollar for every 1/2 lb crappie that was stolen off my line by a big bass on Fork.

The flathead finally gave up and swam away.....and so did the crappie. Never did understand why it laid there while the cat beat it up.

They will lay on their side like that on Fork when a bass is after them and the bass will bump em with his nose trying to get them to swim off. If they swim off the bass eats em. I've seen em get bumped a dozen times and not move and they don't get eaten as long as they stay flat on the surface.
