Headed to OH Ivie this coming weekend for some fun fishing and relax time. Has anyone heard if the fishing has picked up? Not looking for anything to specific, just in general.

I fished today from about 7:00 until noon. Caught 5 that went approx. 13 lbs. all the fish were caught early on top water and a c-rig. I just could not find the big fish. The whites were everywhere just before sunrise. It was a fun day. I talked to two others on the water and they wee catching small fish. One guy said he caught a 18" smallmouth on a crank bait. Well, not a great report on OH Ivie. You can catch all the little fish you want on wind blown points off of main lake. Baits of choice were square bills and chatter baits. Couldn't find anything deeper than 7 foot of water. Ran up the river one day and only picked up a few, all shallow as well, again on chatter baits. Talked to several others and nobody is really catching any size right now. I knew I was about a month early but dang.

Headed out that way tomorrow for some campin', jugline catfishn & try & figure out the crappie. Hopefully ill be coming back with some fillets.

Battled with the rain but had a great time with the kids. Didnt catch nuthin to write home about but it was enough to put a smile on their faces. Was a lil too windy to chase crappie so we just stuck with the cats.
