Planning on hitting three lakes in three days but need a crystal ball predictions from you guys since it's unseasonably warm for late October.

Come on guys. What does your diary say's about this weekend.

OK just for fun. What y'all predictions about the bite this weekend. I predict it will be decent. Not bad. Not good. Just decent. A wild guess. I don't have much on my diary about October and November. I normally take a break from the fresh water and head to my salt water flounder hole. But since it's unseasonably warm this October. Flounders hasn't showed up in big numbers yet.

We will have the dark of moon in a few days. There should be an early morning top water action in the shallow areas where game fish push the bait to the surface. There was a strong top water bite on Belton today. I forecast it will remain strong for about a week. Bruce, you will have a good weekend. The fish will move to the 20 to 30 foot depth after the early action subsides. Good luck with your trolling. I caught fish with top water, followed by trolling A-rigs, followed by slabbing the bottom. The total was about 40 fish with most being keeper whites. I was done by 9:45 AM.

Thanks for the tips Belton Bill!!

heh!!heh!! I giggle when I found out this lake is only a litle over 4000 sqaure acres. Never fish a lake that small in size before. Gonna be interesting if I do visit this lake. If fox visited this lake I think I should too. Any way my goals is to visit every single name lake in Texas that's got hybrid and stripers at least once. Slowly but surely.

Can someone please give this fox guy some rod holders for trolling. I bet he didn't plan on trolling. Ha!!

Bet y'all didn't know they caught a reel monster in the little of a fish bowl lake Phantom. If I hook up any thing over 10 pounds this trip it's going on the wall.

Anybody knows this dude Carlos ? I need to touch base with him to see what a 16 pound hybrid look like and to see if I can find out where papa hybrid may be hiding.

Today was another day of early fish on the surface on Belton. I took a partner today and we finished with 45 to 50 keeper whites all released for another day. I want to thank Dennis Christian for the #2 Mepps technique. I found a school of fish and caught 5 big fish on 5 casts on the #2 fished with his method. I was throwing a slow rolled A-rig at another location and caught 4 at a time on one cast. It was a fun day that ended at 10 AM. I still predict a good weekend of fishing for Bruce.

Thanks for the encouragement Bill. Sure wish I could swing on over to Belton and add another new lake to check off on the list. I too think fishing will be OK this weekend. Just trying to enjoy one last road trip till the dead sticking season begins. November is probably flounders, flounders, and more flounders days for me. Then next year Twakoni,Texoma,Cedar Creek,Richland Chambers, and most defiantly Belton.
