Myself and Alan aka Hunter498 had the HONOR to meet up with Leo aka Gar 1970 and fished the West Nueces River. We also met Leo's wife Yesenia who is one FANTASTIC ANGLER! Me and Alan fished from 8am till 1pm and the bite was GREAT! We caught a total of SIX RECORD FISH! Redear,Bluegill,Rios, and Large Mouth Bass were all caught. Pending Records that will be submitted to Parks&Wildlife will be for the Large Mouth Bass both in the Rod&Reel Weight Class and the Flyrod Weight Class. Yesenia Large Mouth Bass is the pending rod/reel record. Other records are Alan's Flyrod Large Mouth Bass,Redear Flyrod record, and Rio Flyrod record. My two records will be for a Redear and Bluegill! After a fun day of fishing in "GOD'S COUNTRY" we all headed into Bracketteville and had a GREAT lunch at Julies. On the way home me and Alan stopped and fished in the Hondo Creek. Meeting great people and sharing the great outdoors. It just don't get any better! fish

bow_down "HUGE CONGRATULATIONS" to both Yesenia and Alan on ther record fish! bow_down I had a blast fishing with two GREAT ANGLERS and fishing in some very BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY. Yesenia caught her record bass using a super ultralight rig with a Fluke. She caught several bass before getting the BIG ONE! hooked
It was also great to watch a MASTER FLYROD ANGLER at work! Good job Alan on getting your Flyrod records. partyon

Gar1970 and his wife are good people to fish with. My wife and I met them off here and have fished with them a lot and have learned a lot from them. We live just down the road from them in camp wood, by the dam.

Great day with Chuck and new friends Leo and Yesenia. The scenery was fantastic and the bite was on fire. I cant say enough about Chuck and his knowledge of fish and his advice. Leo and Yesenia are really nice people and have beautiful place they call home. The whole day was one to remember for sure. I have to thank God for the new friends I have met, and the gorgeous places I am honored to fish. Thanks again to Chuck, Leo and Yesenia for having me!

That would be AWESOME if we can get a few anglers to go. There is a lot of public area to fish. Maybe we can even have a contest of some sort. I am pretty sure I can get some prizes for the winners. Most fish,Big Fish, etc. Just a thought! hmmm Or we can just fish! Which ever,it would be some good times. cheers

Side Note: Could even have two categories. Rod/Reel and Flyrod. thumb

Holly Cow! That is one heck of an accomplishment getting six water body records in one day. Congratulations to you all! Looks like the W. Nueces is in pretty good shape. What is your take on the long term water conditions on the water bodies in that area?

Again huge congratulations on catching some super fish!

Thanks Gitter for the reply! cheers Great water conditions make for good quality fish! The two anglers I was fortunate to fish with were simply outstanding! Both of them could probably catch record fish out of a mud puddle. As for long term conditions. With all of the rain that area has gotten and is continually getting the Nueces and Sabinal Canyons should be in very good shape next year and into the following year as well! Fished the Canyon yesterday and the rivers are up with GREAT flow! thumb

Side Note: The Nueces/Sabinal Canyon area got about 2 inches of rain yesterday. clap
