I fish Duck Creek (Beltline/Jupiter) every once in a while because it is so close to my house. Until a week ago it has been very bad, got a lot of pressure this summer. Last week I managed two nice 2 lbers and couple smaller ones. This morning I caught several small ones then the one below on top water pop'r. He hit that pop'r just as soon as it touched the water. Was worried that my 6 lb. line would not hold up but it did. Not nearly as many in there as there used to be but still a few nice ones.

I wear a size 12 shoe

Nice fish! I tried fishing there a few months ago and got no bites at all. I didn't think there were any fish in there let alone some nice ones. I'll have to go try it again.

They're all super spooky. When I go waste time down there, I throw 4lb flouro and a craw imitation or after dark, ill throw a small popper. Always produces a couple out of each pocket. LIGHT line and tackle is the key.

problem is since an unnamed person posted that on this forum, it's been over-fished. I live 2 blocks from the creek and every day driving home I see 4-5 people fishing it. There's maybe 20-30 bass in the whole creek since the last flood. If you can get into the golf course just south of there, it's loaded with fish. LOL

I live on this creek, I watch people fish it constantly. Over the summer I would say there would be 2 people there at lunch and 2 people or 2 groups every night. I think they bite, then get sore mouth and don't bite for a few weeks. There are differently more fisherman than fish. I rarely see anyone catch one. If the fish see you, it's game over.

Congrats to the OP. That section is the toughest section for me, I only get bit in the spawn there. (for the most part).

Also the bait fish population stays low thanks to a few people that show up with white 5 gallon buckets to take bluegill home.

The best part of the creek is that it has clear water at times, and it's great to practice casting, pitching, and seeing how my lures look in the water.

This is a creek that I used to fish very regularly. Never really got anything unless it was a small Texas rigged worm that had to be dragged along the bottom. Never went back since a homeless couple chased me out of the bottom of the Jupiter bridge for a solid 5 min.

I agree!!! 6 years ago, I could catch 8-10 within an hour and was the only one fishing. Then someone posted, and it wasn't uncommon to see 10-15 others fishing on the weekend. Needless to say the catch rate plummeted to 1 maybe 2 fish per outing.

Good stuff, I've been there a couple times, saw bass, but didn't land any. I'll give it a go, hope to catch a few and then toss them back.
