New to saltwater but not to casting a net. Just looking for some pointers when trying to net some bait (ie mullet, shrimp, etc) Normally luanch at padre island national seashore. Any help from more experienced salties would be appreciated.

Try casting near some boat ramps or small piers close to the shoreline.

and small inlets or outlets to the marsh grass. Or idle to where you see a lot of them, then get out and wade the shoreline. Sometimes I'll find where they are moving along a shoreline and just stop and wait for them to come to me. Another trick for pin perch is crumbling up bread in a small sand pocket.. toss out the bread then give it a minute and then throw your net.. should get a couple each toss.
