If anyone could help, I bought new boat. Previous boat had HDS-10 and this one is way different. Boat manufacture put a thru hull puck transducer. What transducer would this be to enter in head unit? Also I forgot what I had settings on last boat not that it would help. What settings should I have as in ping speed map speed, contrast etc etc. I tried watching videos and the chirp just made screen go white. Only way I could get to work was on 83 kHz or 200 khz and I couldn't get to dial in. Really just need some help dialing it all in. Dealer left yellow power wires unhooked so I spent all day chasing getting structure scan working but dialing that in is a whole different task! Help!

Lowrance is pretty much plug and play for the most part.

I 800 on the side scan, swapping to 455 when I down scan. 800 will be darker but I usually have the sensitivity set at auto +2 maybe 3/4 depending on water clarity.

On the sonar, it depends on what you're looking for, what type of bottom you're in, and what type of contour. 83 will be a broader range, good for finding say suspended fish, larger structure, and that signal is also stronger and usually works better on plane keeping contact with the bottom longer for me anyway. 200 will be a smaller cone, works better finding fish say near a drop off, around large rocks, or in structure like a brushpile.

On the bow I prefer to turn sensitivity up until the background has small vertical lines that create a fuzzy look in the background.

One other tip, the structure overlay is usually turned on from factory. Turn that off...it's a pain IMO.

The 3D setup does not have the option for 455 or 800 on scanning anymore. Not sure why they removed that option, they also took away the sensitivity option. It will come with HSTL skimmer and the structure scan ducer. If its just a thru hull I would enter is as generic 200/83 other wise use the HSTL ducer in installation setup. Contrast is really all you have for adjustment on scanning while under the s3d selection on the graph. Max on ping speed.
