I have heard it messes with your sonar on here , and was wondering if you have this unit , how is yours set up , and if you have any problems with it. The unit it will be hooked up to is a Helix 7 with 2d sonar. I really need to know something guys.

I have a Helix 5 combo and there us a little interference in the form of grainy look when running medium and up speed. Not enough to be a bother as I mostly use sonar after on spot with anchor. Helix 10 on console. Interference setting on unit makes up for it.

I have set up many Xi5 utilizing the Built-In SNR/Transducer on the FF with no issues.

I received your PM and will get with you after breakfast/church.

Mine just sometimes takes a while to come up on the screen after I drop the motor in the water on a HDS7 and my motor has a mind of its own and goes somewhere else when I hit anchor and I have to figure out how to get back to where I hit anchor. I'm less than impressed with the Xi5 overall. If the new MK with cable steer and spotlock is as advertised the xi5 will be gone in a flash! Course the HB guy I asked compared it to the Terrova with cable steer so he lost me there! The Terrova is junk IMO.

I also had trouble with the anchor not being constat and wandering. Motor Guide rep advised me to cancel remote settings and redo the on water gps setting per the manual. Works perfect ever since.

I don't use the 2D Sonar on my unit but the couple of times I have it didn't have any issues.
